Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence

Established by HB2049, OCCoE is a statewide collaboration between Portland State University, Oregon State University, and the University of Oregon to​ supplement the activities of the State Chief Information Security Officer and provide ​awareness, education, services, and training about cybersecurity and cybersecurity-related issues for public, private, and non-profit sectors in Oregon.

Our Mission

  • Collaborate: Build partnerships between academic, public, private, and non-profit sector communities. 

    The Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence advances the security and resilience of Oregon’s public, private, and non-profit sectors by leading statewide coordination, education, workforce development, research, and operational support. The Center strengthens cyber readiness through collaboration, innovation, information sharing, and targeted services—prioritizing local governments, schools, tribes, and underserved public bodies—while advising state leadership and fostering a skilled cybersecurity workforce to protect Oregon’s communities and critical infrastructure.

Announcements and News

  • Strengthening Tribal Sovereignty Through Cybersecurity Education

    On 2/3, PSU’s grant team was invited to host three presentations at the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians Winter Convention!  These presentations were with the Telecommunications and Technology Committee, the TERO (Tribal Employment Rights Office) Committee, and the Higher Education Committee.

    This included sharing the new Certificate in Building Tribal Cyber Resilience starting 4/10 and the Introduction to Cybersecurity Mini-Course for tribal members/employees that started 2/24.

  • Over 125 College Students at UO's First Industry Partners Network Event - Second Event Coming 4/14

    On 2/11, the University of Oregon hosted its first Explore Careers in Tech event open to all college students interested in careers in tech.  Over 10 companies and organizations in UO's Industry Partners Network (IPN) talked with over 125 students about full-time and internship positions, career advice, and even feedback on their resumes.  The event was such a success that another is being planned for April! Look out for more details.
